Dressed for mess this first day of paper painting, we pushed together tables, protecting them and carpeting with papers and canvas to catch the drips. The object was to create texture and grooves; the Groovy Paper laden with paint of various colors, designs and textures were taken home to dry only to be brought home two weeks later to be embellished with foils. Risa provided patterns and directions for the books, boxes and stationery made with our groovy papers. The last phase came with the joy of seeing color blends in these handcrafted items and the variety: no two were alike.
Thank you, Risa, for sharing your originality and skill. And thank you Yvonne, for organizing this and shepherding the cleanup, so important in keeping our welcome with our host.
At the Gala in June, stop by the Historian's table to see our Groovy work.
