The following SDFC members have received special recognition, including having their art chosen for exhibit. They are listed in no particular order, although the most recent entries are in blue. Members work in periodicals and other publications are listed HERE.

Viviana Lombrozo has a solo exhibition titled “Excavating for Meaning” at Visions Art Museum, 2825 Dewey Road, Suite 100, San Diego CA 92106 from October 17, 2015 to January 3, 2016. The Opening Reception will be on Saturday, October 17 from 5-7 PM.

Patsy Roeder was selected to receive the Grossmont Adult School's OASIS (Outstanding Adult, Students, Instructors, Staff) Award for 2012-2013 school year for being an outstanding adult school instructor. Patsy has taught Adult School Calligraphy for 16 years, first at Helix Adult School and currently at the La Mesa Community Center through Steel Canyon Adult School.

Nominations are submitted by students. Patsy is known to her students as an inspiring, energetic and knowledgeable instructor. She has a depth of understanding of calligraphy which she demonstrates each week. She has the ability to simplify the components of calligraphy to beginning students, while  providing challenging assignments to advanced students.

Patsy has been active in San Diego Fellow Calligraphers over the years. She continues to be an Honorary Member of SDFC.

An unknown author once said, "What a teacher writes on the blackboard of life can never be erased." Patsy Roeder's students will forever remember the many, many hands that have been lovingly shown over the years.
