“A Gothic (ish) Hand,” a workshop with Charyla Bridges Olsen, was held on October 9 and 10, 2004, at the Art Studios of Fallbrook. This hand has Gothic roots, being dark and dense in its most formal and pure form, but lends itself nicely to being stretched tall and thin for more informal usage.
Workshop participants examined the basic shape of this alphabet, leaned a few key strokes, and then developed a style that will be useful in a variety of circumstances. All agreed that Chayla was a warm, patient, and friendly teacher.
