The first meeting of the 2008-09 SDFC year was held at the Four Points Sheraton on Aero Drive, San Diego. In a comfortable lecture room with stadium seating, members and guests, many of whom had just enjoyed dinner at the hotel’s restaurant, watched Claude Mediavilla’s slide show tracing a history of calligraphy and ending with his own abstract paintings.
After the presentation, lucky member Kristi Darwick won the framed Roundel by Sheila Waters, generously donated by Edna Wright.
Members are reminded to R.S.V.P. Kati Searcy for the October meeting.
