So This Is What You’ve Been Doing This Summer!

SDFC kicked off the new calligraphic year with several members showing and sharing projects they had worked on in their own free time, in classes and workshops, at Ghost Ranch, and at the calligraphy conference in Ohio.

Jacqueline Lacey’s demo was a delightful sneak preview of the October workshop.

Edna Wright showed her coptic journals.

One of Lorraine Brown’s  journals.

Jan Lohner, Kathy Gilchrist, and Jean Igoe shared their experiences at Ghost Ranch, NM, this summer.

Susan Richardson: Bleach and pastel on black paper (left) and a fabric book (right), techniques she learned at the Ohio conference.

Susan Richardson brushed gesso on vivid acrylic ink, the scratched and lettered on top to create some unusual, delicate pieces.

Teri Martin shared her new scrapbooking papers, then the books she’d worked on at the conference in Ohio.

Jacqueline Lacey and Lisabet Wilson hold up Jacqueline’s layered piece.
