“Illumination: If It Were Hard, They Wouldn't Have Done So Much of It!”

Mark Van Stone, our guest lecturer, presented a most informative and entertaining history of illumination, complete with demonstrations that enthralled us with his lettering ability. Many of us can’t wait to try our hand at Celtic knotwork.

Beverly Frank’s beautiful alphabet accordion book was on display at the Show and Share board. She started the pages in Jane Shibata’s workshop in May.

We were all reminded to gather our items for next month’s Trash and Treasures auction. Only articles that are art/calligraphy related will be accepted. Don’t forget to ask your friendly vendors for donations such as paper samples.

Also coming up: June Elections! Only the position of Vice President is open this year  as Diane Reiter retires after serving more than five years on the board. This position could be shared. Please contact Diane or any other board member for information.
