“Trash and Treasures” was a silent auction this year. We had a time limit during which we bid on the items of our choice. Once time was up, the last name on the list paid the bid and be awarded the "treasure." There were all kinds of books, papers, envelopes, inks, paints, interesting containers, and other art and calligraphy-related items. We could have gone longer, but the sun set as the final call was made. Loading our cars with our goodies was the greatest challenge of the evening.
The board of directors was elected for the second year, minus the office of Vice President. We’re still looking for volunteers to fill this position, but in the meantime, several members offered to “adopt” some of the meetings for the coming year. These volunteers pick up the room key, arrange for people to bring refreshments and help set up the room, and coordinate withe the person giving the program for anything special that may be needed. Meetings that are not adopted may not happen! Please contact Jacqueline if you can help.
Teri Martin gave us a brief description of the wonderful workshops planned for next year, and distributed workshop packets to those present. The rest of our membes will receive them in the mail. Click on “SDFC Workshops” to see the schedule, and do sign up as soon as possible as our workshops fill quickly.
Gretchin Lair passed out new membership applications. If you didn’t receive one, there will be one available on-line on this site soon. Check the “Members Only” page.
