Before our short business meeting, we admired the collection of birthday card designs. Lorraine Brown’s card was chosen as the 2012 SDFC Birthday Card. Congratulations, Lorraine!

Barbara Roth presented a slide show and gave some hints for successfully “journaling imperfectly.” She said we should lower our expectations and “just try it and then practice.” Make imperfect artwork. “A mistake is an unplanned outcome.” She recommended two favorite authors of books on watercolor: Richard Taylor and Lucy Willis. After looking at some of her sample journals, we could not wait for the weekend’s workshop.
