Day Two

The second class was devoted to small, paste paper experiments using acrylic paint mixed into Ross art paste, a synthetic material, on Fabriano soft watercolor paper. We tried different color combinations and different textures, and we were enthralled with the results. These pages were going to be Japanese stab-bound and kept for references as well as being pasted surfaces on which to practice lettering.

Teri demonstrated how her book was put together as we all watched and took notes. Then, we went to work making our own papers. These photos were mostly from the end of the day as the papers were drying.

Pages of Teri’s book taken apart to show how they were organized.
